My First Tatted Dragon

Ever since I first saw them I've wanted to make up one of Anne Bruvold's tatted dragons. Well I finally managed the time to work on one! I thought it would be more complicated than it was but it wasn't nearly as difficult as I had expected. Instead of doing SSMRs I worked split rings on the tail/body. This one has been called my Cotton Candy Tatted Dragon because of the colors in the thread. Hope you all like him as much as I do! I'll definitely have to make more of these!

I'm also working on a design by me! hehe....I have the picture in my head and most of how it will work up in my head. I need to tat it up (writing down the instructions as I go) and then find some way to get it diagramed. It's my next tatted project so hopefully it won't be too long before I can show it to you.

My tatted items can be found on my website - http://www.PeachtreeCottage.com or in my Etsy shops - http://PeachtreeCottage.etsy.com and http://TattedDelights.etsy.com

Double Maple Leaf Bookmark

I love working up maple leaf designs and decided to take two of them, one by Tammy Rogers and one by Joelle Paulson and put them together as a double leaf bookmark using some Lizbeth thread in fall colors. Here is the result:

A Girly Girl Kind of Cross

The next thread I decided to play with was Girly Girl. I've been wanting to make another cross and wanted something that was a bit frilly but not too much. The Maria cross by Lene Borjn fit what I was looking for perfectly. So, now I present to you, my Girly Girl Kind of Cross:

Motif # C2-9:

I love the colors in this. The soft and deep pinks and the soft and deep purples go so well together! I will definitely be using this to make something else soon.

Pink Marble

Since I won the contest for naming "Pink Marble" I figured I needed to make something with it to show how it works up. Here's a bookmark I made with it which really shows off the Victorian Rose, Pink and Gray colors. I'm also working on a pendant and earrings with this thread too

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day

I got a chance to do a little bit of tatting so I made up a couple of Valentine Heart Bookmarks. The first is from a very pretty design by Irene Woo. I tatted it in thread that is shades of pink then added a cord with a coordinating motif on the end.

Motif # C3-3:

The next one is a white lace heart which surrounds a red paw print in the middle. I thought this was a great design by Heather Johnston to show some pet love :-)

Motif # C3-4

Another New Color Test

When I first saw these new colors I thought they would make up well together and they did. The lighter one is shades of cream, ecru, light tan and reminds me of old vintage, tea stained, lace. The brown is a deep rich shade that makes me think of dark semi-sweet chocolate. I used them together in a Quatrain Bookmark. The Quatrain motif was designed by Joelle Paulson.

With this I will be starting my 3rd set of 25 Motifs - Motif # C3-1:

Testing More Colors

I decided to test out another color of the new Lizbeth threads. This one makes me think of Neopolitan Ice Cream (think Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla). It worked up nicely, I think. I think this bookmark design is by Sandy Scales but I'm not totally sure.

This is my last motif for my 2nd round of the 25 Motif Challenge. Should I continue and do another set of 25 for the challenge, or should I just keep tatting and not worry about keeping count for the challenge?

Hot Apple Pie

The lovely colors in this thread remind me of Red Delicious Apples, Yummy Caramel and Fresh Whipped Cream.  I think it works up nicely as a bookmark.

Beautiful Thread!

I think I've fallen in love!  I just love this new Lizbeth thread colorway.  The colors go together so perfectly.  At first I wasn't too sure how it would work but once I started on this bookmark I saw how well they worked together.  I will definitely be making more items with this one!

Shades of Evergreen

As you all know, the new Lizbeth thread "Blue Ice" called out to me to make snowflakes. Well, their "Jungle Greens" called out to me in a different way. I looked at it and I didn't think "jungle"....I thought "evergreens"....so here's a little tatted Christmas Tree Bookmark in 'evergreens".

Motif # C2-21

Done in size 40 thread it measures 3 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide at the base, plus I added a tassel to make it a bookmark.

Another New Bookmark

This is another bookmark I made recently.  This one is shades of a pretty green with sunny yellow flowers in the middle. This was made by making the rings in yellow while adding a leafy green edging.  I really like how it turned out and might do more in additional colors.
